My heart and passion is to see people connect to Jesus, His mission, and to the church family. If you are not connected yet at Morning Star, this is a great place to be! As a guy who got into a lot of trouble as a kid, I have experienced the grace and love of Jesus in incredible and very full ways. And God has used the people and teaching at Morning Star to help mold and shape me over the years into the man I am today. I know firsthand that no matter who you are, what you done, or what your background is, Morning Star is a safe place to come explore more about Jesus, grow in your faith, and connect with some pretty amazing people.
I grew up here in Salem. I went to North High School and graduated from McNary High School and Corban University (then Western Baptist). I met my wife, Rachel, while working at the Olive Garden restaurant on Lancaster. And for a decade we moved around the country so I could graduate with my masters from Dallas Theological Seminary and pastor hurting churches in Texas, Colorado, and California. In late 2014, God brought us back to our hometown of Salem. In September of 2015 God brought me back to be on staff at our home church, Morning Star.
We have three amazing kids: our daughter Jordyn, and two sons, Kyler and Kaedyn. When I am not engaged in ministry, there is nothing I enjoy more than spending time with my wife and kids. A close second would be watching the Oregon Ducks beat the Beavers, or watching the Blazers beat the Lakers.
And I would love to connect with you. Please contact me if I can help answer any questions about God or the Bible, or if I can help you get connected at Morning Star at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
