Prayer Guide: June 28 – July 4

20 minutes with Jesus prayer guide

JUNE 28 – JULY 4, 2020

In His Word.

Begin by carefully reading a passage a day. While you’re reading, write down things that stand out to you, questions you may have, and what you think the passage means. Then look for a command to follow, a promise to proclaim, and a prayer to be prayed. Write them down, too . . . then obey, proclaim, and pray!

In Prayer.

Our prayer emphasis is three-fold: We’ll pray for our church, our community, and our world. On the days we gather together to pray, specific requests are listed. The link to our online prayer gatherings is found on our website, www.mstar.church. We’ll pray the weekly prayer focus each day for the rest of the week.

SUNDAY, JUNE 28

8 am. Webex Prayer Meeting.

9 and 11 am. Online Sunday services.

Scripture: Luke 15:1-7 and Matthew 18:10-14

Prayer

  • Our Church //  Pray for our teaching pastor (Pastor Chris), the worship team, media and production teams, our hosts, and those who welcome people in the “lobby” and those who pray with those who call in. Also pray for those who attend online to have soft hearts for God, listen to the Spirit, and do what He say—whether they are seasoned believers or believers-to be.
  • Our Community and Our World // For true unity, grace, courage, and power for the local Church in our community and the Church around the world—that we would be salt and light for God’s glory.

WEEKLY PRAYER FOCUS

  • Our Church //  Our Elder Board asks you to pray that they be filled with God’s Spirit, responsive to His leading, and listening well to His wisdom and guidance. Michael Coursey has served as an elder at Morning Star for 20 years and is now retiring from the Elder Board and moving to a new area of ministry. Please pray God’s blessing on him and his family, and also for God’s direction in the selection of the person to take Michael’s place on the Elder Board.
  • Our Community // For Phase 2 of reopening and what that looks like for individuals, families, businesses, organizations, and places of worship.
  • Our World //  For containment and cure of COVID 19, and especially for those most vulnerable. Pray as well for those caring for the sick and those fighting to find a cure.
