Student Ministries Transitions and Updates

Hello Parents and Students!

We know that this year hasn’t looked normal, and we appreciate how well you’ve adapted to so many changing things. We want to update you on what the next couple weeks look like, as well as some of the summer plans.

Sunday June 7: Drive-Thru Promotions!

We are hosting a drive-thru celebration for our current 8th graders moving up to RIOT and our current 5th graders moving up to Highlife. Come meet our awesome leaders, get some sweet swag, and maybe get to dunk someone in a dunk tank . . . ? You won’t want to miss it.

Sunday June 7 // MStar Parking Lot

Current 8th graders: 2-3 pm

Current 5th graders: 3:30-4:30 pm

Current 8th graders will attend their first RIOT on Wednesday, June 10. RIOT small group leaders will be reaching out with all the info they will need to get started.

Current 5th graders will attend their first Highlife on Thursday, June 11. Similarly, small group leaders will reach out with info!

Friday June 12 & Sunday June 14: Senior Celebrations!

We want to recognize our Class of 2020 seniors this weekend! A parade of our small group leaders will be dropping off yard signs for our seniors on Friday June 12 during the day, and we will feature a special video to honor our seniors during both services (9 & 11 am) on Sunday June 14.

While we are celebrating them, we are inviting our seniors to continue meeting with their current RIOT small groups until our Young Adult groups are able to meet in person. The heart behind this is to keep them connected with their current community until they can connect in-person with other young adults, making the transition out of high school a little bit easier.

Summer Plans:

With our desire to be wise and to keep our community safe, as well as current restrictions, we had to make the unfortunate decision to cancel our summer camps. While we won’t be able to have a normal camp experience, we want you to know that we are working hard on some fun summer events that will work with our current restrictions and commitments to safety. We know camp is such a special and important part of all our summers, so we are still committed to coming together to have as much fun as possible!

We will keep you posted on what those events will be as we finalize plans.

For our seniors, we do have exciting news! Our Young Adult camping trip (Yamping) will be happening later this year. Stay tuned for details in the coming weeks!

As always, if you have questions about anything at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to serve our middle and high school students with all that Jesus has given us, and we love and miss you guys a lot.

Jesus First,

Rob and Katrina
