Title: Bridge 45 & MStar Kids Midweek Director
Ministry: MStar Kids
Approx Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week, $17-19 per hour depending on experience
Purpose / Position Overview
The Bridge 45 & Midweek Director will serve alongside the Kids Director and MStar Kids Team to lead and shepherd 4th and 5th graders (Bridge 45) and oversee a Thursday night discipleship-focused midweek ministry for 1st–5th graders during the academic year.
This role exists to create environments where children are known, biblically grounded, and encouraged to pursue a Jesus-first life in alignment with Morning Star’s mission.
Spiritual/Character Requirements
Affirmed and approved by Morning Star Community Church as a recognized leader of the church.
Willingly submit to church leadership (the Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor, and the Elders).
Meet the character/spiritual qualifications of a church leader.
Above reproach (I Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:7).
Demonstrates godly character (1 Timothy 3:2-3, 8; Titus 1:6-8).
Healthy family life (I Timothy 3:4; Titus 1:6).
Good reputation with outsiders/non-believers (I Timothy 3:7).
Full of the Spirit and wisdom (Acts 6:3).
Qualifications
Personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Heart for discipling children and partnering with families.
Demonstrated leadership ability and volunteer recruitment experience.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Servant-hearted, teachable, and team-oriented.
Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
Education / Experience / Desired &/or required
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated experience working with children (church, camp, school, or similar setting)
Clear and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Ability to lead, organize, and communicate effectively with both kids and adults
Preferred:
College coursework or degree in ministry, education, child development, or related field
Previous experience in children’s ministry or church leadership
Experience recruiting, training, and leading volunteer teams
Strong understanding of discipleship and age-appropriate spiritual development

Gmail / Google Workspace
Social media platforms (Instagram)
Certifications:
CPR/First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Required Team Hours
Thursday Team Meeting: 8:30–9:30am (weekly)
Sunday Mornings: 8:00am–1:00pm
Each team member attends one worship service.
Each team member oversees and runs check-In for one service.
Thursday Evening Midweek Program: (Academic Year: September–May)
Additional hours are flexible and may be completed throughout the week based on preparation, communication, meetings, and ministry needs.
Primary Duties
BRIDGE 45
Recruit, train, schedule, and shepherd Bridge 45 volunteers.
Facilitate consistent and effective communication with volunteers and parents.
Coordinate quarterly Bridge 45 events.
Create a welcoming, engaging environment where 4th and 5th graders can:
Ask questions about faith
Grow in biblical understanding
Build Christ-centered friendships
Prepare weekly Sunday materials, including lesson setup and technology needs.
Send volunteer schedules, lesson plans, and reminders in a timely manner.
Assist with check-in, greeting families, and Sunday set-up/tear-down.
Manage supplies and submit financial documentation (receipts, check requests, etc.).
Operate and oversee the Bridge 45 Instagram account.
Show consistent care and Christian concern for parents, children, and volunteers.
MIDWEEK DIRECTOR
Lead and oversee a Thursday evening discipleship service focused on:
o Scripture memorization
o Biblical teaching
o Small group discussion
o Spiritual formation habits
Develop or implement a curriculum aligned with church theology and vision. (The current Gospel Project curriculum has a mid-week option. We are open to suggestions.)
Recruit, train, and schedule midweek volunteers (leaders and helpers).
Create a structured, engaging, and spiritually formative environment.
Communicate clearly with families regarding schedules, expectations, and special events.
Oversee weekly program flow, supplies, and room setup/tear-down.
Coordinate with church staff regarding space usage and calendars.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with Children’s Ministry special events outside Sunday mornings as needed.
Support administrative or classroom needs as requested.
Contribute ideas and solutions toward strengthening the overall Kids Ministry.
Function as a collaborative member of the church staff team.
Maintain alignment with Morning Star’s mission, theology, and leadership culture.
Work Rhythm Overview (20-25 hours per week)
A typical ministry week may include:
6 hours – Sunday mornings (services, check-in oversight, team leadership)
1 hour – Thursday team meeting
2–3 hours – Thursday evening Midweek program
8–12 hours – Weekly preparation (lesson prep, curriculum planning, volunteer scheduling, communication with parents, supply management, social media, and event planning)
Additional seasonal hours for quarterly events and special ministry initiatives
Schedule allows flexibility outside required ministry hours while maintaining strong preparation and communication standards.

This person directly reports to the Morning Star Kids Director

This position requires regular attendance at MSCC
