Financial Update - November 2025
Hey Church Family,
Welcome to the final lap of 2025. It is always a sprint to the end of the year as we prepare for the festivities of the holiday season while trying to keep up with all our regular activities. It has been a fun fall here at Morning Star as we have seen consistent growth in our attendance and ministry engagement across the board. Here is what to know financially as we make our final kick to end the year.
OCTOBER GIVING REPORT / MINISTRY FUND
October Budget: $165,000
October Actual Giving: $154,456.91
Difference: -$10,543.09 (6.39%)
2025 JANUARY-OCTOBER BUDGET REPORT / MINISTRY FUND
Budget: $1,525,000.00
Actual: $1,428,850.16
Difference: -$96,149.84 (-6.30%)
NOVEMBER/DECEMBER GIVING NEED
November Budget: $180,000
December Budget: $250,000
COMMENTS. Giving was up slightly in August and September before a small dip in October, so we are in a better financial position than we were in midsummer. This is the time of year when the generosity of our church is at its highest, and we’re anticipating another strong financial finish to 2025. God is at work in our church and I can sense Him doing amazing things in the lives of many people here at MStar. It gives me hope and excitement that God will provide for our financial needs as well, and I can’t wait to see how He works. It is important to reach projected giving for both November and December to diminish (or eliminate) our giving deficit as we finish the year. Thank you for partnering with us as together we work toward fulfilling the church’s mission. We value you and your impact can’t be overstated. Every gift matters. We are so thankful for your regular tithes and offerings and for the many year-end gifts that have already started coming in.
I’m working with the Elders right now on our 2026 budget. Once we know how 2025 ended, the budget will be completed and officially presented to the Board for approval. Then it will be shared with the church family, along with our vision and goals for 2026. Please pray for us in this process as we strive to steward well what you have given for making disciples.
PROPERTY UPDATE. I shared with you a couple of months ago that conversations had ended with a buyer to purchase around eight acres that parallel Kuebler. We have spent the last couple of months praying, getting a land appraisal, and doing some other necessary planning to see what other potential buyers there could be. We are pleased to announce that the same eight-acre plot is now on the open market, and we’ll see if the Lord brings any buyers that are aligned with us and looking to partner with us for the greater good of South Salem and our City. This process, as you can imagine, could take quite a bit of time. We will keep you posted over the coming year when there are updates to give. Please know you are always invited to ask questions and give feedback at any time.
AND that’s it for now. Please let me know if you have any questions (john@mstar.church). If you would like to give to the ministry of Morning Star Community Church, you can do so by clicking the button below.
We have so much to be thankful for. I pray you and yours have a very happy Thanksgiving.
In all things, Jesus first!
