PURPOSE / POSITION OVERVIEW

The Facilities Assistant assists maintenance in keeping the building clean and safe and assists ministries with set-up and clean-up, all for the glory of Jesus Christ.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTER/SPIRITUAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Willingly submit to church leadership (Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor, and Elders). 

  2. Lives a lifestyle above reproach that seeks to honor the Lord in all facets of life

  3. Labor experience

  4. Positive attitude to perform the task well, and if need be, take a little more time on a project to ensure completion 

  5. Detail-oriented 

  6. Self-sufficient

  7. Mechanically-oriented/able to work on our own equipment 

  8. Organized/self-guided 

  9. Ability to understand and learn

  10. Attends Morning Star Community Church

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Clean building as assigned

  2. Assist with building and grounds care as assigned

  3. Assist in property maintenance 

  4. Other duties as assigned. 

ADDITIONAL MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES AND/OR SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS

  1. Fulfill any and all other responsibilities as needed or assigned by maintenance.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, GIFTING REQUIRED

The Facilities Assistant has the ability and commitment to:

  1. Look at the master calendar and get the building ready for the events of the day

  2. Preventative maintenance

  3. Deferred maintenance

  4. Long-term projects

  5. Lawn mowing, spraying, edging, and tree trimming in the spring and summer

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  1. Agree to abide by all policies and procedures as outlined in the Morning Star Personnel and Policy Manual 

  2. This is a part-time position for 20 hours, summer hours are closer to 36 hours 

  3. Typical daytime hours Monday-Friday with flexible hours as seasonal needs and events happen

  4. Required staff meetings on first Tuesday afternoon of the month

WAGES AND HOURS

This is a part-time position with salary based on experience.

DIRECT REPORT

The Facilities Assistant is guided in this ministry by the Executive Pastor.
