Just in the past week, things have changed…

Church Statement

Morning Star Community Church wants to be absolutely clear that we condemn all acts of racial injustice as we firmly hold the biblical truth that racism is sin and breaks the heart of God. Racial injustice in any form is not acceptable behavior. We believe that race issues are gospel issues and that the Church has an opportunity to lead a watching world in reconciliation through the sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ.  It is evident that long-standing and deep hurt…

Dear Morning Star family, It has been said many times, but we can’t say it often enough: We miss you and love you very much. Our prayers for you continue to be fervent and consistent as we seek to lead you to pursue a Jesus-first life. As you can imagine, we’re getting lots of inquiries about our future plans. Pastor Scott shared about the framework for regathering in a recent service, and if you’d like to hear what he said,…

PPP Loan Letter

Dear Morning Star Family,  I am writing to you, along with our entire Board of Elders, to share some good news regarding the PPP loan (Payroll Protection Plan) that we recently received from our bank.  When COVID 19 began drastically disrupting our world in mid-March, we experienced a significant drop in giving that was alarming. During this time, the government approved a stimulus package that was very favorable to small businesses with special consideration given to churches. After much fervent prayer,…

They don’t complain and they do their job knowing it could compromise their own health because they want to care for our community.  We want to say “thank you” and to do so, we want to provide a meal for them. We have committed to providing a meal and an encouragement note to eight different departments over the…

Family Letter 4.29.2020

A letter from Pastor Scott and Pastor John: Dear Morning Star Family, In just a few weeks, Covid 19 entirely changed the way we live. For Morning Star, Covid entirely changed the way that we do church. We rocketed to online gatherings that opened virtual windows and doors to share the good news of Jesus, gather in Webex meeting rooms for prayer and study, and be innovative with how we connect and communicate. Whoever thought people would be attending Sunday…
