This summer, we’re heading to another one of Oregon’s seven wonders . . . The Coast!
Enter the 2nd annual #yampingtrip at Honeyman State Park in Florence, Oregon.
Let’s take a minute to get out of the heat and take a breath of fresh air! There are plenty of ways to unwind . . . two lakes to swim in, kayaks, stand-up paddle-boards, hiking galore (there’s literally a trail called “Hobbit Trail”), sand dunes as far as the eye can see, sand boards, and oh yeah, the beach!
We’ll also take time to learn about how the things we do every day matter. Our habits, activities, and priorities help shape not only the people that we are, but the people we are becoming. We will take some time to listen to God’s voice, and catch a vision for how He calls His followers to order their lives, do His work, and stay balanced and sane in all of it.
Let’s rediscover what’s most important, together.
Here’s the nitty-gritty:
We will be meeting at the church at 5:30 pm on Thursday, August 3 for check-in and registration, leaving the church at 6 pm. If you are coming up late, be sure to register ahead of time so we can check you in when you get there!
Transportation: We will be carpooling, so we will need people to be willing to drive/you’re responsible for your own transportation.
Sleeping arrangements: Tents/Hammocks. Make your own arrangements. If you have questions, email David at david@mstar.church
What to pack: Bible, sleeping bag, pillow, deodorant, soap, shampoo, toothbrush/toothpaste, towel, flip flops (for the shower), one piece swimwear (or modest tankini suit), sunscreen, four days worth of clothes (including a sweatshirt or something warm for the evenings and hiking clothes/shoes). Water bottle, something to float the river, car phone charger, camping chair, lantern, and money for gas.
Optional items: Extra money, sunglasses, camera, gourmet coffee supplies, ect.
What not to bring: Don’t bring anything that would distract you from being present and focusing on Jesus.
