Monthly Missions Update
May 2025
Volume 2, Issue 5

Hello Morning Star Family,

Here’s a recap from our 1st ever Missions Conference and some ways to pray for our Evangelists during their festivals & training this month! Also, you can support a Local Partner providing healthcare for people in Salem!

Catalyze Salem Missions Conference –

Believers from across the Northwest & many churches in Salem engaged in a weekend of learning & challenging growth at the Catalyze Salem Missions Conference. Hosted by Frontiers Ministries at Morning Star from April 4th to 6th, 2025, this conference ignited a passion for mission, particularly engagement with the world’s largest unreached people group, Muslims. This event equipped attendees with practical tools and a long-term vision for praying, sending, and going, guided by experienced speakers and field workers. We had 45 attendees & 11 Frontiers staff interacting together & seeing how our Missionary God is working in His world! If you’re interested in  looking into more ongoing, relationship focused ministry to Muslims email: Jared@mstar.church

Salem Free Clinics –
Compassion Campaign Finale celebration May 8th Green Villa Barn –
To combat the ever decreasing Grant funding opportunities that are challenges to faith based non-profits, and to increase the health of Salem Free Clinics overall sustainability, they have taken on a bold vision to add 500 new ongoing supporters from January to May 2025. This “Compassion Campaign” has sparked opportunity and hope within our community to take practical steps to help those in need of vital healthcare, and to stem the tide of homelessness before it happens as medical debt is a huge indicator of who will become homeless.

From SFC: “With our community’s help, Salem Free Clinics will be able to provide life-saving, compassionate care to our community for years to come. We cannot do this without you–volunteers, community members, business owners, churches, friends and family. Together, Salem Free Clinics will be known by all, and our doors open to all who need help whenever they need it.”

Join Pastor Jared & others from Morning Star as we Celebrate all that God has done over these last few months. You can still register below to come learn more about SFC and how to support them at the May 8th Celebration.

Mike Silva International –
Recap from Mike about their Columbia trip in March:
Dearest Friend,
It was a weekend full of Good News on the island of San Andrés!
→ 4 schools and 1,200+ students heard the Gospel.
→ 227 children responded to the salvation message.
→ 300 backpacks filled with school supplies were distributed.
→ 389 families in the cliff sector of the island benefited from a clean water project, impacting nearly 3,000 in the area. And through our first-ever compassion aid partnership project with Help Nations 80 families in that same community received bags of food. Our Jenna’s dream finally came to fruition, and her legacy lives on! It was overwhelmingly emotional and incredible.
→ 1,000 pastors and local church leaders gathered for two days of conferences.
→ We held a Family Fair on Saturday night where 400+ kids and their families joined the fun.
→  1,000 + attended the festival, hearing great music & the Gospel.
→ Hundreds of recorded decisions for Christ!

We praise the Lord who continues to show Himself strong–as Healer, Helper, Comforter, Friend, Father and Savior–in the lives of many!

Thank YOU too, cherished friend, for your abundant generosity in making this outreach possible! Your prayers and partnership continue to make a world of difference among the nations, in ways that matter most!

Gratefully Yours,
Mike Silva
Upcoming Mike Silva trip to Spain and Morocco on the Ignite Tour – May 18th to June 2nd.
The Silva Team will continue the Ignite Tour and have some great opportunity to meet critical spiritual and physical needs!

We will train pastors and local leaders–equipping them with the necessary tools to deploy into their communities–and share the love of Christ in their spheres of influence. Each stop consists of workshop-style conferences, evangelistic outreaches, and humanitarian aid efforts. Our hope is to disciple those called to the work of evangelism, who desire further guidance and know-how, as they prepare to embark on a global endeavor of reaching souls for Christ in our day and age.
