MissionS support

As Christians, we're all called to “GO and make Disciples.” Where you go is up to the leading of the Holy Spirit and the giftings and interests God has given you.

There are a wide variety of ways and places to serve in the community. No one can do everything, but we can all do something. We do this by living a lifestyle of worship, leading with humility, serving with joy, and inspiring the next generation and following the Holy Spirit.

Our heart for this team is that each of our Local and Global Partners would have a team of 15-20 people that are supporting them, praying for them, and helping meet their practical needs.

Local Partners

Our Local Partners serve the Salem area. Most have very practical ways that you can get involved. You can be involved as much as 10+ hours /week, or as little as 2 hours /month. It's up to you based on what you're able to do!

Serving kids whose parents are incarcerated by providing mentorship and leading at summer camps.

You can be a camp counselor during summer or a 1-on-1 mentor throughout the year.

Hope Station

Serving people who are above the poverty line on government assistance, but also not making ends meet. Through a low cost commitment and serving opportunities these folks are empowered to provide food and clothing for their families while building self-esteem and confidence.

You can sort and organize food, placing it on shelves & in the warehouse, shop with customers, serve in the office with bookkeeping, reception, etc.

Hope pregnancy clinic

You can help with the Love Box Program or throught mentorship. The Love Box program provides community and holistic support to fostering families, including caregivers, children experiencing foster care, and biological/adopted children. You can mentor kids through the Dare to Dream program to help kids navigate life's challenges together, providing advice, encouragement, and a supportive community.

SALEM FREE CLINICS

Existing to provide quality, compassionate healthcare at no cost to the uninsured in our community as an expression of Christ’s love.

Volunteers love people and are willing to generously use their administrative, medical, or interpreting professionalism to enrich the lives of the patients they serve. Volunteers are also needed to keep Bibles stocked and to pray with people who visit!

SALEM FOR REFUGEES

You can help as a Good Neighbor Team coming alongside families to help them adjust to life in Salem, Oregon. You can serve at various community events that bring refugees, churches and the larger community together.

SIMONKA PLACE

Providing emergency shelter and meals for females to meet immediate needs in a trauma-informed environment.  Often, even a few nights of supportive shelter and trauma-informed care are enough to help single women and mothers with children regroup and identify a safe place for themselves and their family.

You can help by serving a meal as well as other opportunities. a meal as well as other opportunities.

Union GOspel mission

Holistically approaching homelessness while working to help rewrite the futures of our unsheltered neighbors’ lives by providing for basic needs, teaching self-sufficiency, self-worth, and skills for independent living.

You can help by serving a meal as well as other opportunities.

GLOBAL Partners

Our Global Partners serve around the World and many of them would like to have you join on a short term trip, a semester internship, or possibly join them long term overseas. All of these Partners need a support team to pray, participate, & provide for them so they aren't asking in their ministry.

You can join or start a Rope Team for any Global Partner. A Rope Team is support from afar for these partners. When William Carey, the father of the modern missionary movement, was asked in 1793 if he will go down to India to share the Gospel, he replied "I will go down, but you must hold the rope". Missions is always a group effort. We can hold the rope, supporting these Global Partners from here with encouragement, prayer, supplies, and communication so they know they are not alone.
