Title: RIOT Worship Intern / HIGHLIFE Worship Intern
Ministry: RIOT (High School) or HIGHLIFE (Middle School)
Term: Sept 2026 - July 2027
Approx Time Commitment: 10 hrs. / week at minimum wage
Purpose / Position Overview
The RIOT/HIGHLIFE Worship Intern is responsible for building, developing, scheduling and overseeing RIOT or HIGHLIFE worship teams and music sets. This position facilitates and leads worship at RIOT/HIGHLIFE while also being a part of the ministry.

Qualifications & Competencies
Humble team player, collaborative, gets along well with others.
Able to recruit, develop and lead volunteer teams
Has a well rounded understanding of music and a heart for worship and praise
Can lead worship both vocally and from an instrument with excellence (acoustic, piano, etc.)
Ministry minded with a passion to see others grow and succeed
Able to train up volunteers in musical and vocal abilities
Flexible and servant-oriented
Able to successfully schedule and deploy volunteer worship teams
Innovative and forward thinking, always striving to give his/her best with a servant’s heart
Education / Experience / Desired &/or required
Fluent in at least one instrument
Strong lead vocal and harmony abilities
Can play with click track and IEMs (in ear monitors)
Has a strong and responsible stage presence
Has experience leading in worship ministry
Primary Duties
Develop and oversee the RIOT/HIGHLIFE worship team in the following areas:
Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to lead God’s people in worship and praise with excellence for Jesus
Implement Morning Star’s vision, strategy, and culture
Work alongside ministry team to accomplish the goals and vision of the ministry
Schedule band and vocalists in Planning Center Services at least two weeks before the new month
Oversee rehearsal prep and communicate call times promptly
Select worship sets & manage PCO plans 5-7 days in advance
Work hand in hand with the production staff/team to execute a successful service
Cultivate relationships and shepherd your team members toward a Jesus-First Life
Lead worship for RIOT/HIGHLIFE at least twice per month
Develop & coach potential musicians and vocalists
Meet twice a month with the Worship Director
Meet once a month with RIOT/Highlife Director
Help with the planning and execution of camps, missions, events, etc.
Supervisor
This person directly reports to the Morning Star Worship Director
Terms of Employment
Agree to abide by all policies and procedures as outlined in MSCC’s employee policy manual.
This position requires regular attendance at MSCC
