first impressions
our first impressions team is the face of morning star! From the moment someone enters our driveway, our teams welcome and take care of them.
Clean Team
We want to make sure our facilities are always ready to accommodate all the people coming expecting to encounter Jesus! Sometimes, that means a little windex and some vacuuming are in order.
If you like to be behind the scenes but make a big difference, the Clean Team is for you. Teams clean the church after second service (about 12:45 pm until around 2 pm, depending on how many help). They vacuum the church, clean and mop the bathrooms, and take out the trash. Plain and simple. Teams serve once a month and take turns covering the occasional fifth Sunday.
Current need: 4-6 people to help on the first Sunday of the month. 1-2 people to join any other Sunday team.
guest connect
Being new and connecting in a church can be intimidating. The Guest Connect’s sole purpose is to make connecting to Morning Star easier. Those who serve here have three simple but important roles:
1: Tell people we are excited they came,
2: Personally invite them back, and
3: Invite them to our next Connect Event.
It’s a simple, yet powerful ministry on the front lines of welcoming in the future of Morning Star.
Time commitment: Team members serve at one of the services, one Sunday a month, every month, for 30 minutes before service and 15 after.
grace cafe
Grace Cafe is so much more than just coffee and donuts . . . it’s a chance to create a hospitable atmosphere at all our Sunday services! This is a great ministry for those who like more of a “behind-the-scenes” kind of service. Those who serve in the Grace Café ensure we have coffee, water, and tea ready for our guests and church family, as well as have donuts available for our morning gatherings.
Time commitment: Our Grace Café-ers serve at one service, on a month-on/month-off schedule, arriving 60 minutes before the service.
parking Team
Our Parking Team is truly one of our first impressions on guests! Team members set up directional signs for our guests, and welcomes those driving into our church on Sunday mornings. If you want to be part of making people feel welcome, like serving outdoors, and look really stylin’ in Hi-Vis orange, this is the place for you! We would love to have you be part of our team! Both men and women enjoy this ministry, and it’s a great way for couples who want to serve together.

greeters
A genuine smile and good handshake are some of the best ways to make someone feel welcome and at home. That’s the mission of our Greeting Team – helping people feel truly welcome at Morning Star. It’s an easy place for individuals and families to serve together and make a big impact. By greeting, you help set the tone of warmth and welcome in our church.
Time commitment: Greeters serve at one of the services, on a month-on/month-off schedule, arriving 30 minutes before the service.
ushers
Ushers are an integral part of our worship service by being attentive to guests and assisting them in finding seats. Ushers also facilitate the offering and the beautiful tradition of communion.
