SCHEDULE
Every Tuesday Night
MEN’S & WOMEN’S VICTORY GROUPS @ 7-8:30 pm // Group Bible study and discussion centered on Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.
Many people who attend our meetings have attended A.A. and N.A. meetings, and come to The Most Excellent Way seeking an environment that is commonly known as, “Faith-based.” Some have church backgrounds and others have none, but anyone and everyone are welcome in The Most Excellent Way
Teaching
Our gatherings center around The Ten Attitudes of Victorious Living, which are derived from Jesus’ teachings in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5). We believe that these attitudes provide a framework for change. When applied, these promises and principles can lead to transformation.
The Most Excellent Way support meetings are held weekly, Tuesday at 7:00 pm. We accept one another as we are; anyone seeking freedom from life-controlling sin is welcome.
“We love because He (Jesus) first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19
the ten attitudes of victorious living
1. HUMILITY
Jesus said: “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, For the Kingdome of Heaven is theirs.” – Matthew 5:3
I admit I am powerless over the effects of drugs, alcohol, and self-centered behavior; my life is unmanageable.
2. REPENTANCE
Jesus said: “God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4
I believe Jesus Christ can and will create in me a new way of life.
3. SUBMISSION
Jesus said: “God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth.” -Matthew 5:5
I give my will and life to Jesus Christ.
4. HONESTY
Jesus said: “God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.” – Matthew 5:6
I honestly examine myself in the light of God’s Word.
5. MERCY
Jesus said: God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” – Matthew 5:7
I humbly ask God’s forgiveness for my sinful past. I am able to forgive those who have hurt me.
6. OBEDIENCE
Jesus said: “God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.” – Matthew 5:8
I desire to live under the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit – day by day.
7. RECONCILIATION
Jesus said: “God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.” – Matthew 5:9
I ask forgiveness from all those I have hurt or dealt with unfairly.
8. FAITH
Jesus said: “God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.”
– Matthew 5:10
I trust in the power of Jesus Christ when I face hardship and trials.
9. PERSEVERANCE
Jesus said: “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.” – Matthew 5:11-12
I stand firm in my faith that Jesus is in control of all things.
10. LOVING SERVANT
Jesus said: “You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world… let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” – Matthew 5:13-16
As a new creation in Christ, I share with others the Good News of a risen Savior who makes His people whole.
