Dear business owner,
Thanks for checking out this page. We are excited to bring people together in our community for a free and fun family experience that is sure to be a Christmastime memory maker. Please see below on what we are doing, why it is important in this season and how you and your business can be part of something special as we work together to support foster care families in our city.
Salem Angels is a new non-profit ministry that wraps community around children and families experiencing foster care by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship. They desire to change the staggering statistics and reach every child through their two programs The Love Box and Dare to Dream which allow volunteers and mentors to walk alongside and care for the children and families within Marion County. We are creating a long-term relationship with Salem Angels to continue to help them as the foster care crisis in our community continues to grow.
Where is the light in the world?
There are so many challenges in our community like COVID-19, natural disasters, the economy, the mental health crisis, and lots of division and strife in our community. People are craving opportunities to get together and experience joy. They are looking for a way to escape heavy burdens, even if it’s just for a few minutes. They want to connect relationally and the need for that will only increase as we get closer to the Christmas season.
We believe we have an answer for these needs.
Morning Star Community Church has created an experience that will lift people’s spirits and give them something joyful – Christmas lights! This is no ordinary Christmas lights display, but is an original story, musical score, and narration from the perspective of an elf on a journey to find his place of belonging. Each visitor will drive alongside the elf as he learns what it means to belong and find true joy. It will be free so everyone has access to attend.
There isn’t anything quite like this in the entire Salem area. We’re providing fun for the whole family from the safety of their own car. This is a season of change and uncertainty so we want to make the best of it as this can be a positive way to make new memories and start new traditions.
Morning Star has an experienced staff that have run multiple large events in the last few years. Last year was our first year of this event and we expected to have about 6,000 people. We promoted it on social media, TV, Radio and other avenues which we plan to do again this year. We had 17,782 people attend in 4,998 cars spread across 11 different evenings. Our property has plenty of space for more vehicles and our location off of Kuebler Blvd is perfect for high visibility and easy access to I-5.
Here’s where you come in.
We have the story, concept, staff, location, heart, and energy to continue to grow this 13 day Christmas experience that will reach thousands of people. This is a high value partnership opportunity for you. With 13 different dates throughout December we realistically expect we can see 20,000 or more people. It will be a community-wide event. We are presenting you with an opportunity to build unity in our community, bring joy, and promote your business in a tax-deductible way. Not only is this an experience that can have a positive impact in our community right away, but it is sustainable and can continue to grow in the years to come.

P.S. Added bonus, we will continue providing an opportunity for people to give to a new non-profit in our community, Salem Angels. Last year people attending The Lights event were so thankful that they gave $22,921 to help Salem Angels in their mission to wrap community around children and families experiencing foster care.
