Last Sunday, as we were celebrating the 40th anniversary of Morning Star, Pastor John hosted Tom, Deena, Dave, and Trudy on stage and asked them about Morning Star‘s early days. One of the questions Pastor John asked was, “What is your prayer for the future of Morning Star?” In both Trudy and Deena‘s responses they were united in their prayer. Trudy and Deena‘s prayer for the future of Morning Star was that many leaders would rise up to serve in our kids ministry to teach our kids the truth of God‘s Word in Sunday school.
A specific story that Trudy mentioned of needing a three year old classroom teacher 40 years ago, is true right now! We are looking for an adult who loves Jesus and would be ecstatic to teach our two and three-year-old classroom on a weekly basis at the 9 am service.
