Sports Camp Details for Attendees

Hey Parents!

Thanks for registering for Sports Camp at Morning Star!

Sports Camp runs Monday- Friday, August 1-5, from 5-8:15 pm each day.
It is held at:
Morning Star Community Church
4775 27th Avenue SE, Salem, OR 97302

If you have any questions, please email me, Louie Schmitz at louie@mstar.church.

Drop off / Check-in:
Each day you will drop off your child at the check-in tables inside the “Family Entrance” doors to the church. On Monday, check-in opens at 4:30 pm. Tuesday-Friday, check-in opens at 4:45 pm. With Sports Camp starting at 5 pm each day. I’d recommend you give yourself at least 10 minutes to get checked in, take a bathroom break, and get settled before we start.

On the first day your child will receive their t-shirt at check-in and their Powerbook (booklet) at pickup time. They will receive a new name tag each day. You will receive a matching security tag each day that needs to be shown at pick up. You must present the security tag, or a photo of the security tag on your phone, at pick up.

Please arrive no later than 4:40 pm on Monday so we can make sure we start on time. The check-in and registration process (and getting a shirt) will take longer on the first day.

If you are needing/wanting to stay a bit to see your child at Sports Camp, let our volunteers at check-in know and they will get you a VISITOR name tag.

Parking:
Please park in the lot closest to the doors labeled “FAMILY ENTRANCE” at the main church building. This is where check-in will take place.

Pick up:
The safety of your child is our highest priority. At pick up (8:15 pm), your child will be in the South Auditorium close to where you checked them in and dropped off. Please line up at the closed door labeled “Parent Entrance”. Once Sports Camp is over, you’ll enter the South Auditorium, down the middle aisle of the kids, gather your kid(s) and proceed to the “Parent Exit” door. You must present the security tag or a photo of the security tag on your phone at pick up. The security tag will be checked at the door marked “Parent Exit” to match your child’s name tag.

Allergies:
We want to be the most careful when it comes to food allergies. With that in mind, if your child does have a food allergy, please send a snack with them to Sports Camp each day, in a resealable container or bag, clearly marked with their name. At check-in, our snack volunteers will store it until our snack time. GF will be the only allergy/intolerance that we can accommodate for if you marked it on your registration.
*Please, NO PEANUTS. Due to severe food allergies, if a snack is sent to camp that contains peanuts, it will be stored and returned at pick up.
