The Lights 2023 Recap

Hey Church Family!

Now that we all have had a little time to recover from the holidays, I wanted to give you one last recap on the Lights at Morning Star 2023. After a total of seven pre-event work days, ten shows, and three post-event work days, we have so much to be proud of!

This year we had 3,974 cars, 13,638 people, and we raised $17,360.37 for Salem Angels! So many people sacrificed their time, their gifts and their resources to make this event what it was. Thank you for YOUR sacrifice and YOUR prayers. We know this event is not an easy one, but we also know that it makes a huge difference in our community. Not only does it provide Salem Angels resources to help foster families in our area, the event itself shared the Gospel with hundreds of people, put smiles on so many faces, and blessed countless individuals by giving them a free event to enjoy during Christmas time.

Thank you again for your support and your participation. We could not have done it without you.

The Lights At Morning Star Coordinator

This is the first time I’ve been able to volunteer in the evenings with The Lights at Morning Star. With the Christ-centered message of Leo the Elf, and now Saint Nicholas, each evening already had the potential of being impactful to many.

With the foundation laid by the hard work of all the volunteers, the hearts of our guests softened by seeing the visual story of each scene and hearing the message of Saint Nicholas’s generosity and sacrifice . . . it was now my turn, my opportunity, with candy canes in hand, to pray for each person, each carload, if they would allow me.

What a blessing! What a personalized opportunity for the Spirit of God to speak into each person!! For the Holy Spirit to draw each heart towards Himself, to nudge each softened heart to be more hungry and thirsty for God alone.

We will never know all that the Lord did in 2023 through this incredibly impactful ministry, until we are together for eternity.
